Read the complete text of Derrick Wang’s opera ‘Scalia/Ginsburg’!

The complete libretto [script] to Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg has been published in the Winter 2015 edition of the Columbia Journal of Law & the Arts.

The publication features prefaces by U.S. Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia themselves. Justice Ginsburg writes, “Scalia/Ginsburg is for me a dream come true.”

The text, written by composer Derrick Wang, features 248 footnotes referring to topics including landmark Supreme Court cases, famous moments in opera (“operatic precedent”), and the recipes of Martin Ginsburg.
